COMMUNICATION

→ Communication is two-way process of mutual undderstanding, in which participants not only exchange information but also create and share meaning.
→ It is a process by which an individual or group transmits information, ideas and feelings to another individual or group.

7.2 IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION :-

(1) Fore manager - employee relations :-
→ Effective communication of information and decision is an essential camponent for management-employee relations.

(2) Motivation and Morale :-
→ Communication is also a basic tool for motivation, which can improve morale of the employee in an organization.

(3) Increase prodcutivity :-
→ We can also increase production at low cost.
→ It ist through the communication that empoyees submit their work reports, comments, grievances and suggestions to the management.

7.3 PROCESS OF COMMUNICATION :-

(1) Sender :-
→ The communicator or sender is the person who is sending the message.

(2) Message :-
→ Message is an idea or information that passes from a communicator to a receiver.

(3) Medium :-
→ This is the carrier of message sent by the communicator.

(4) Receiver :-
→ The receiver is simply the person receiving the message.

(5) Encoding :-
→ Communicator message must be translated into a comman language which reflects the idea.

(6) Decoding :-
→ This refers loop provides a channel for the receiver respose which enables the communication the determine whether the message received is exactly same as the message sent.

7.4 MEANS OF COMMUNICATION :-

→ The means of communication may be verbal and non-verbal.

• Verbal Communication :-
(a) Oral Communication :-
→ Oral communication is information spoken by mouth.

(b) Written Communication :-
→ Communication by means of written symbols.

• Non-Verbal Communication :-
→ Communication takes place with the help of some sign and symbols.
(a) Body Language :-
→ Includes facial expression, eye contact, postures, touch etc.

(b) Space Language:-
→ It includes surroundings (design & language)
→ It communication social status.

(c) Sing Language :-
→ A sign language is a language which, instead of conveyed souch patterns, uses visually transmitted sign patterns.

7.5 BARRIERS OF COMMUNICATION :-

(1) Filtering.
(2) Selective Perception.
(3) Emotions.
(4) Language or Semantic Barrier.
(5) Information Overload.
(6) Time Pressure.

7.6 OVERCOMING BARRIERS OF COMMUNICATION :-

(1) Regulate the flow of information.
(2) Feedback.
(3) Use Simple Language.
(4) Level of Knowledge.
(5) Listen Carefully.
(6) Control Emotions.
(7) Watch for non-verbal uses or body Language.

7.7 TEN COMMANDMENTS OF COMMUNICATION :-

(1) Clarify the true purpose of communication.
(2) Examine the ture purpose of communication.
(3) Take the entire environment, physical and human, into consideration.
(4) When valuable, take advice from others while planning commmunication.
(5) Be careful of the overtones and the basic content of the message.
(6) Use crip language and be clear.
(7) Follow-up an communication.
(8) Communicate with the futute as well as the present in mind.
(9) Be a good Listener.
(10) Exhibit Congruency.
