4.2 RECRUITMENT-MEANING AND IMPORTANCE :-
→ Recruitment is the process of seraching the condidates for employment and motivating them to apply for job in the organization.
• Importance of Recruitment :-
(1) Search for people whose skills fit the companye's values.
(2) Search for talent globally and not just within the company.
(3) Increase Orgganizational and individual effectiveness in the short term and long term.
(4) Develop on organizational culture that attracts competent people to the company.
(5) Infuse fresh blood at all levels of the organizations.
(6) Induct outsiders with a new perspective to lead the company.
(7) Begin identifying and preparing potential job applicants who will be appropriate condidates.
(8) Evaluate the effectiveness of various recurviting techniques an sources for all types of job applicants.
(9) Help reduce the probability that job applicants, once recuruited and selected, will leave teh organization only after a short period of time.
(10) Help imcrease the success rate of the selection process by reducing the number of visibly under qualified or overqualified job applicants.
4.3 SOURCES OF RECRUITMENT :-
→ The sources of recruitment may be divided into two categories :-
(1) Internal sources.
(2) External sources.
(1) Internal Sources :-
→ Persons who are already working in an organization costitute the 'internal sources'.
→ Retrenched employees, retired employees, dependents of deceased empployees generally constitute the internal sources.

(1) Wide choice.
(2) Injection of fresh blood.
(3) Motivational force.
(4) Long term benefits.
• Demerits of external sources :-
(1) Expensive.
(2) Time consuming.
(3) De-motivating.
(4) Uncertainty.
4.4 METHODS OF RECRUITMENT :-

(2) External Methods
• Internal Methods :-
→ The following are most commanly used internal methods of recruiting people :-
(a) Promotions and Transfers.
(b) Job Posting.
(c) Employee Referrals.
• External Methods :-
→ The following methods ar used to recruit the people from outside :-
(a) Compus Recuruitment.
(b) Advertisements.
(c) Private Employment Search Firms.
(d) Employment Exchange.
(e) Gate Hiring and Contractors.
(f) Unsolicited Applicants/ walks-ins.
4.5 RECRUITMENT PROCESS :-
→ Recuruitment process involves a systemativ procedure from sourcing the condidates to arranging and conducting the interviews.
→ The recruitment process is immediately followed by the selection process.
→ Steps invloved in recuruitment process are :-
(1) Indentify vacancy.
(2) Job description and person specification.
(3) Advertising the vacancies.
(4) Managing the respose.
(5) Short-listing.
(6) Arranging Interviews.
(7) conducting interview and decision making.
4.6 RECRUITMENT VS SELECTION :-

→ In recruitment out sourcing, a comapn completely transfers the selection process or part of it to a third party.
(2) Pooching/ Raiding :-
→ Raiding or poaching is a method of recruitment in which competing firms attract employees from rival firms.
(3) E-Recruitment :-
→ It is also known as online recuruitment.
→ Comapanies advertise job vacancies on different websites.
